Today, I propose that we do not do anything except stare at the perfection that is Ryan Gosling, pausing only to take short reading breaks for articles that reveal his awesomeness, such as his own piece on the Congo conflict minerals, lengthy blog posts by girls who are just helplessly taken by his swag and guys who do not know any better. We can refer to it as "A study in Ryan Gosling and the way he looks at women like they're the most important and precious thing in the world" and call it a day. You're welcome, people. You too, hipsters.

Some Sondre Lerche

I was going to post a subdued My Hands Are Shaking but it's a smile friday in my life so here, have fun with If Only. Part of this music video's appeal is its obscurity, it reminds me of the Science of Sleep, one of my favorite movies. Enjoy! :)

Easy listening Thursdays

New Mayer Hawthorne! This new 12" is produced by Nottz and it definitely has a lot of soul. Originally sung by Otis Leavill in 1969, I Need You is bittersweet but easy on the ears. I love how Mayer Hawthorne blurs the lines between Motown and Hip Hop. It throws me back to the time when it was both the advent of hip-hop and the hey day of motown, where the Rat Pack reigned but at the same time, Harlem became cool. This song makes me think about the Bronx during the 1960's. Who wouldn't want to get some good old lovin', touchin', squeezin' from the up-and-coming crooners back then? Artistic, soulful, passionate, wielding a newly discovered art form full of song and power? Ah, such energy! Enjoy! :)

O'ne Siamera Plus Jamais

For everyone who is still not over Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Inception, because only a few can be called via their initials. You have to be super awesome. And he is, even while talking gibberish.

J'adore Le Petit Zizou

Today, we thank the Universe for creating one of the very few majestic gifts that keep on giving--Yoann Gourcuff. ♥ End of story. Start of scrolling up and scrolling down repeatedly, until computer crashes from excessive ogling. Go for it.

Let's go to the beach!

I got inspired by Grease, our movie for the night, thus this photo post that I'm about to share. Glorious HD frames of Danny Zucko, Sandra Dee and Betty Rizzo (my favorite) shaking their hips to Elvis Presley kept me inspired to hanker on to glorious summer days.

Here are some photos I took when I went out for a walk along the sandy beaches of Florida--an excellent location for the summer because gorgeous young people actually drive to this place. For reasons unknown to humanity because this place is an award-winning hotbed of heat.

Years from now, I will look through the archives of this blog and think to myself that once, a long, long, long time ago, I had the penchant for creeping people out before actually meeting them. Sometimes, it works. Most times, well.. what do you know. I do it for kicks. Haha!

I Love Your Smile

Duplicatekey found this gem of a singer and since Keishia's one of the very few people whose musical taste I greatly respect (and love!), it is uncanny that I fawn over him too. This song is good plus there's Audrey Tatou in the video so you know it's not just a song, it's one of them SONGS (the kind that makes it big because it's spectacular and people know it). I checked out some of Charlie Winston's songs on Youtube and so far I love Like A Hobo and I'm Old-Fashioned. I'm still on a Sondre Lerche phase so it's hard for me to transition back to love songs with a lot of soul but I'm going to get there.

Also updated my Hypem account while I sat reading FPA's page on US-China security relations. I seem to have a fascination for American-Asian affairs and East Asian conflict resolution but I'm not sure I'm cut-out for comparative politics. Let us see, but I earnestly believe it's an ideal field of specialization. Now if only I get to specialize.. (HA! And by HA! I do not mean a laughing HA! I mean a HA! That's Where The Cookie Crumbles kind of HA!)

HA!
